cReative Team Tuesday - Silhouette Cameo and Phonto meet Rhonna's Insta Lovin Kits

Hi there and welcome back! This week I am sharing the video tutorial on how you can use the PNG files from Rhonna's new Insta Lovin Kits with your Silhouette Cameo.
The piece above is what I cut using the new InstaQuotes Kit via the PNG file with my Silhouette Cameo.

You can watch the tutorial at my new Vimeo Channel found HERE to see how I used the PNG file from Rhonna's Insta Quote Kit.

Then be sure to come back for part 2 of today's tutorial!
Using Phonto and Rhonna's Insta Lovin Kits as shown in the instagram photos below. You can click on any photo to see them in a larger size.

Your first step after purchasing the kits is to import them into your iPhone. You can visit our friend Lindzie HERE for great tutorials!  She has two, one showing for windows and another for Mac so be sure to scroll down for both.

And if you have an android and you want to use Phonto or PicsArt with Rhonna's True Type Fonts do the following.
1. Connect your phone to your computer where your Rhonna Designs Insta Lovin files are.
2. Locate the folder on your phone called Phonto/Fonts or PicsArt/Fonts (found on your SD card)
3. Then drag the fonts to those folders and once you unplug your phone and open apps they will load.
4. Be sure you are loading the TTF files

When uploading your instagrams that include Rhonna's digi we would love it if you added the following hashtag #rhonnadesigns  Thanks!

Using True Type Fonts with your Silhouette Cameo

Hi there! I'm back to touch on how you can use your fonts with your Silhouette SD or Silhouette Cameo.  When you load fonts to your computer that also has your Silhouette Software you will get to use those when cutting.  Meaning, any font you buy or download free from the internet will be in your font library when you open your Silhouette Design Software.

So, if you bought all of Rhonna's Insta Lovin Kits this means you can cut them in your Silhouette.  How you ask? Well, Rhonna designed these kits so that all the designs can be used either as a brush, a png or a TTF.  After you purchase the kits and you download them you will see a file titled Font TTF and so when you install that into your Font library on your computer that automatically is recognized by your Silhouette Design Software. Fun right!  I will do a video screen tutorial on this, this weekend so you can see me using them!  Thanks for stopping in!

cReative Team Tuesday - Insta Lovin Font Sets

A very quick post to share with you just a handful of shapes I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo using some of Rhonna's new Insta Lovin Font sets.  If you aren't familiar with her new Insta Lovin Kits go HERE.  I love using them on my instagrams but I know some of you aren't on Instagram so wanted to show you that you could still join in on the fun!

I installed the new font sets into my font folder on my mac and so when I opened up the Silhouette Cameo workspace they were already there for me to use.  Now, I will mention that not all of the shapes are going to cut well in small sizes.  You will want to play around with them to see which are best for using with your cameo.  I will be more to touch on that later via a video tutorial so check back soon!

Here is what I cut just to share with you that you instagrammers were not being left out!

As you can see above, I simply typed some of the shapes in using the font I wanted.
Above I even used the Insta Lovin' Number brush kit to stamp the photo with today's date.  The kits she designed include a brush set, png set and true fonts!

And here they are cut out and ready to be used on a layout, your project life, cards or just about anything you can think up!

Have a great Tuesday!

Art for the Soul

Hi there!  Can you believe it, two posts in one day!?  Yep, I'm back but this time I'm sharing some art that I created this afternoon.  I pulled out some Artist Water Soluble Wax Pastel water color crayons that I bought on clearance a few weekends ago at Hobby Lobby while visiting my friend Leslie.

She is one of my very talented friends who is always inspiring me and this week she didn't disappoint!  After seeing her art journal entries found at her blog HERE I decided it was time to play too!  I think it turned out pretty good.  I did my best not too add too much to it yet enough to give it interest.  Hope you like it as much as I do.  And I hope I made her proud!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bokeh Baby

Yesterday I sat outside for a bit with my camera to take some photos just for fun.  To see if I was retaining what I learned over at Shoot Fly Shoot and I think I am!  What do I love about this photo?!  The bokeh, I am so in love with the bokeh in this photo!  The bokeh is that unfocused beauty of the photo that then often times shows up as blurry yummy circles.  Call me weird but i love a photo with an unfocused background! What say you?

Click on the photo so you can see it in a larger size to truly appreciate the beauty of all that bokeh, hehe.

Go HERE so you can see what the true definition of Bokeh is.

Pretty Storage and My Birthday Present

Hello there!  I know, it's been a while hasn't it!  Well, since I last wrote I turned the BIG 4-5, YIKES.  My age has never been an issue with me but this year it was sorta weird for me, LOL.  But, what wasn't weird was the awesome birthday present that the hubby got me!

As usual, you can click on the photo to see it in a larger size.

That picture is the instagram I took and posted as we were buying it, eek!  I am still over the moon excited and totally in love with the camera!  I almost love it as much as I love my husband, really!

The photo above is my very first photo taken with my new camera using the 85mm 1.8 lens.  I am in love with the amazing depth of field it gives!  I totally love the blur (known as Bokeh) and that the iPhone is what is in focus.  The phone by the way is not mine, that was my hubby's new toy that he got.  I hope to get one when my phone is up for renewal.

The one above was taken with the 85mm 1.8 and has amazing "bokeh" in the background.  As you can see the trees are all blurred and there are small circles created by the light and the low f-stop of 1.8 used.  I'm telling you, I love me some bokeh!  Also, isn't he totally yummy, my hubby, yes he is and he does look pretty sexy on that bike.  During the week he is often wearing slacks and button down shirts but this is his "riding" look. YUM.

And the photo above is also taken with the 85mm 1.8 but this one was taken the day that I took the online photography course over at Shoot Fly Shoot.  It helped me finally "get" the manual settings on my DSLR.  I had my "ah ha" moment during this course, the guys did an amazing job explaining the fundamentals.  If you are still using your DSLR on automatic and are ready to take photos that are at their best potential then visit that site and learn how to go "Manual".

So, now we are on to a photo I took with the 50mm 1.8 which is a very affordable lens.  This lens isn't fancy but it does a great job!  I wanted to have a 50mm but after getting the 85mm I didn't want to spend too much.  I love the slight "bokeh" in this one too, the camera does a pretty good job for $114 (got it on sale) don't you think.  If you look closely at the jar with the ribbon behind that first glass dish you will see that it was that jar the I was focused in on. Love how everything else is blurred.  Yes, that was on purpose!

And in the photo above you can see I focused in on that first glass dish along with the one holding the buttons and most of the rest of the photo is blurred.  Again, that was on purpose as I used the f/1.8 had I used a higher Fstop I could have had the entire photo in focus.  But, that isn't what I was going for when playing with this lens.

The jars are a fun way to keep things organized in my studio, don't you love it!  I know I sure do!

And my last photo is of the Advent Cubby Calendar that I originally featured HERE.  I have put it to use storing my washi tape and flair button.  I took some of the boxes out so that you could see some of the tape.  It was sitting on my floor for the longest time then finally the light bulb went off in my head and storage it became!
