Helping Others Meet New Sources of Inspiration

Hi there! Thanks for stopping in, this is going to be a long post and so I hope you stick around till the end.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog you know that I have been in a funk, slowly I am working my way out of it.  I'm ready to get to playing and creating!

One of the things that I love to do as a blogger, tweeter, Pinterest pinner and Facebooker is help spread the word about the fabulous women that I learn of.  I would say that I spend a good portion of my online time spreading the word of these women so that others will meet them too.  I know that sometimes all it takes is to mention a person once or twice and someone out there will see it and stop in on that blogger or pin and learn something valuable. There is nothing greater than seeing your work or words out there for others to enjoy or learn from.

What I find a little frustrating is that often times I don't see that effort back in return.  I know, I know, we shouldn't do things simply to have the favor returned.  And that isn't why I do it, I truly want others to get to know the wonderful women I have met! BUT, it sure would be nice to see others do the same thing. I have personally seen how excited some get at seeing their work pinned, blog posts tweeted but then they often forget that they hold the key to sharing that joy with their friends or fellow bloggers.

Often times when I see it done it's usually folks promoting their close friends or the "popular girls" ha, and that is great but I think it's great to remember to help promote those that are not always in your immediate circle of friends. Or maybe you forget your own circle of friends when it comes time to helping spread the word? We all lead busy lives but it only takes a few clicks to spread a little love now and then.

So, next time you come across a great item on Pinterest consider clicking on the photo and leaving a comment to that blogger. Consider pinning something from a blog you have discovered. Consider re-tweeting someone's tweet. Consider tweeting about a great blog post you have come across. Consider returning the favor if someone spreads the word about you. As my friend Jennifer commented, pay it forward.

Sharing is truly a wonderful thing and it's free.

If you look over to the right the first thing listed on my sidebar is an area that I will add new blogging friends blog links.  They are new to the blogging world and need a little help getting the word out.  So, if you would please click on their link and stop in and say hello.  If you see something you find interesting then consider sharing the post via twitter, Facebook or your blog.

Hope to see you back soon and YAY, it's almost the weekend!!

p.s. I have some great bloggers listed on the right hand sidebar. I have those blogs listed not only for my reading pleasure but for you too.

p.p.s If you would like any of your work pinned, tweeted or shared via Facebook feel free to drop me a line and I would be happy to help out! And if you would like your blog listed on my "Blog Love" tab above let me know and I will add you.

life happens

Long and deep post, a reality check
so if you dare read on......

Friends...

I have always been the kind of girl who
wanted to be friends with everyone. Yep, EVERYONE,
well with the nice girls.  Boo on the mean girls!

Over the years I have had some amazing friendships!
Sadly, many of those friendships are no more.
Why? Well... life happened...

To my dismay many of the women that I used to call friend
are no longer in my life and it has made me so sad.
Some of those friendships seemed perfect on the outside
but on the inside they weren’t the healthiest of friendships.
But still, I miss some of those old friends, why?
Well, I tend to hang on to a lot of the good memories more so
than the unhealthy part of the friendships.
Then there are those friendships that were healthy on the inside
and out but life simply got in the way.

But, as I get older I am learning to accept God’s plan for me
he wants me to be the best person I can be. He wants that
for all of us and we are so blessed to have him leading us!

Sometimes, I get so mad at him! Why? Why do you bring
friends into my life only to allow them to walk away?
He takes his sweet time answering and that often frustrates me!
But then when he is ready to clue me in it hits me like
a ton of bricks and then it’s a WOW moment!
Know what I mean?

Blogging, has become a new means of making friends for me!
Sometimes I think it’s sorta sad that some of my closest friends
are those who live so far that the women I carry on conversations
with via our blogs, Facebook, Twitter or texting are the women I find myself reaching out to.

Then God steps in and shows me that if I just let go
and let him lead the way that it will all be OK.
I’m done fighting it, this morning I woke up and sent my new
online friend Alisa a reply to a sweet email she had gifted me with. It was then, as I wrote her back
that I knew that it was time.

Time to let go of those lost friendships and accept
all the new friends that he has brought me.
Time to be thankful for
some of the old friendships that I thought
had been lost but have recently been rekindled.

I simply need to let go of the resentment I feel for some of
those old friends and accept my new found friendships.

So what I can’t pick up the phone and ask to meet
up at a moments notice with some of my
new friends at the local coffee shop
or meet for a day of shopping!
What I can do is accept those new friendships,
cultivate them and learn from them.

Everyone is brought into our lives for one reason or another, at least I like to think so.

The new friendships I have made since I started blogging are turning out be such a blessing and from them I am learning so many new things about life, about me and
what friendships mean to me.

Today is a new a new day, a new month and a new chance to
make life what I want it to be, what God wants it to be,
because he knows best, he really does.

If you made it this far Thank You! Thanks for
allowing me to let all this out and for your time!
Thanks for your friendship and for your inspiration!
-Nancy
