Spark No. 3, Chapter 5

OK, Here are the last of the fabulous gifts that my wonderful Spark sisters gifted me, love them!
1. Judy gave me this awesome apron that she decorated with the Spark logos and added an adorable ruffle to it! So cute and she took one to have the teachers and spark sister sign it. Brilliant! She was so sweet and brought us name tags for the pre-Spark dinner! Please visit her HERE

2. Susan who was with me at Spark No. 2 as well as this year brought me this adorable dish filled with candies and the gorgeous N. Love it!  Sadly Susan doesn't have a blog, boo! This year she brought her daughter Olivia and her friend Mary and her daughter Brittany. I fell in love with them all! Such dolls!

3. Alisa, Alisa, Alisa, what can I say about my sweet friend Alisa! Isn't this mixed media piece she created amazing!! Love it! I'm going to hang it in my cubicle at work, it will keep me happy!  So, Alisa found a place in my heart many months ago thanks to Spark! I started to blog stalk her and you should too!  She is one of the most amazing woman I have ever met! She has an amazing heart, she is super talented (she created most of the Spark art for the Spark blog) and she writes from her heart!  Please go and visit her HERE and I will warn you, she creates amazing digital pieces of art! You will love it! She is such an inspiration!

Thanks ladies! You were so sweet to think of me and I will cherish the gifts you sent me home with! xoxo

Spark No. 3, Chapter 4

Hello there!  Welcome back to my Spark story, yesterday I shared with you what one of my fab sisters made and I won!  Today I am sharing what a Fab Sister made especially for me!  Her name is Jamie and she is crazy talented!  I met Jamie via the House of 3 craze a few years ago, we both had won something from Rhonna and that was the first time we were in touch. I then started stalking her blog, I kid you not!  She is crazy talented, yes I know I said that already but she is, so I'm stating it twice!  Fast forward a few years and we are now both on Rhonna's design team!  When Rhonna made the call I figured that Jamie would try out and make it because, YES, she is Crazy Talented!  Well, she made it and when I saw that I was on the same team I was so excited!  Mainly because she and I would have to interact and then she would have to be my friend, ha!

Well, she decided to join us at Spark and I was so excited and as promised she was a sweetheart and showed up with a sweet gift for me! No, I didn't take her one, bad friend huh!  Well, she didn't hold it against me, plus I bribed her to like me with a ride from the airport to the hotel.  I'm sneaky like that, ha!

So, here are a few photos of the adorable mini album she created for me using the Grateful Glam line from Rhonna Designs.  Once you take a good look at these photos you should head on over to her blog and say hello and I will just warn you now....you will get hooked and start blog stalking!  Why? Spark No. 3, Chapter 3

Friendship.  Memories.  Laughter.  Love.  That is just a bit of what I experienced at Spark this year!  This year I met more AMAZING women at Spark!  And there were many more that I didn't even get a chance to speak to which leaves me a little sad but excited for them that they were at Spark meeting other new friends!

Last year I hosted a small dinner gathering the night before Spark, we were a small group and it was such a  nice way to start Spark!  So nice that I decided that I would host yet another Pre-Spark dinner gathering and was it a gathering!  This year we had 50 FABULOUS women attend, yes 50!  WOW! I was so excited that we had so many interested and I think that they all had a great time!  We stepped it up a notch this year by holding a swap.  Everyone who was interested in playing along brought an item in a bag and we took the bags and re-distributed them out.  It was so much fun and everyone left with a wonderful item to remember their Pre-Spark meeting!

Here is what I left with that night, an incredible handmade pin created by the talented Carrie Clayden of California!  She is amazing, talented, beautiful and a joy to talk to!  Please be sure to head over to her blog HERE and say hi, she has so many fabulous Spark photos to share!  She owns a store in southern California so if you live there you should check it out and here is the blog for her shop HERE!

*I will be sharing photos of a few more gifts I received from fellow Spark Sisters so join me Monday night!

Click on the collage below to see it in a larger size so you can gawk at the incredible pin that Carrie created and it was enclosed in a gorgeous box too!  ;)

Spark No. 3, Chapter 2

This one is going to be a short one, really short!  I'm still trying to get some photos together since I didn't take many during Spark this year!  I hope to photograph the projects I created and do a post on those as well as photograph the wonderful gifts I was given.  So for now I wanted to share a photo of Nancy & Nancy.  I met Nancy online last year and when we met in person we had an instant bond!  How could we not, we are both Nancy and we are both cuties, he he.  I was so excited to see her again this year at Spark and so we were sure to get in our annual photo as we now like to call it!  I'm hoping that next year she and I can end up in the same group so that we can spend some quality time together!

So, here are photos of us from Spark No. 2 and Spark No. 3.

I have to tell you that along with the incredible classes we get to take at Spark the friendships we form has to be one of my absolute favorite things about Spark!  I'm truly sad when I leave because it will be another year before I get to see most if not all but a few of my Spark Sisters.

Easter Sack

Just a quick post to share with you the Easter Sacks I created this afternoon to hand out to my nieces and nephews.  I knew I didn't want to spend too much on the gift bags themselves because lets face it, kids don't care about what the candy and eggs come in ;)  Am I right or what?!

So, I had some small sacks that I had purchased some time back and simply stamped them with an "egg hunt" stamp that I had from the $1 of Michael's.  I then punched a hole on each side and threaded some ribbon that I had on hand.  To finish them off I printed out these cute little free printable pennants from  Spark Girl Alisa that can be found HERE cut them out and attached them with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.  I think they turned out precious and they were super easy and cheap to make.

Head on over to the Spark site because Margie is having a giveaway of her papers from her new lines.

Ohhh, I'm also including a photo of the card I made for my little sister, today is her birthday and we are all headed out to dinner and some Karaoke yikes! LOL  NO, I am not singing!!

What is this Spark you speak of?

Hi there friends!

I wanted to take a little of your time to talk about Spark the Event with you in case you were wondering what it is that I am going on and on about :)

Spark the Event is a two day event just outside of Salt Lake City Utah, I attended #2 last year and LOVED it! I had no idea what I was going to be taking as far as classes go but to be honest it didn't matter one bit! I knew that the women who were hosting were amazing, talented and big hearted women so I was sure I would have a wonderful time! And I did, so much that I knew that I would be returning again for #3 no matter what!

The first thing that appealed to me was the cost of the event, $350 for two days worth of classes and lunch and dinner included. And they did not disappoint! There was something for everyone and I learned some new things when I was there. Last year there was a Photography class, Digital Class, Mixed Media class, Wool felting class, mini scrapbook class, we made an adorable flower pin and more and more.  The Spark Girls are the teachers and they are all very talented and so we will learn so much not to mention the others they will bring in to teach :)

Do I need to be a Scrapbooker to attend?
NO, this event is for anyone who loves creativity and inspiration from others.

But I don't know anyone going!
No worries, we have a couple of group pages and the Facebook group page that you can join and get to know fellow attendees.

Do I need to bring a lot of supplies?
Not really, I learned last year that I could have shared some supplies with my fellow Spark sisters so to not have to pack too much as far as tools go. As the event grows near they will call out what you need and you can always coordinate with your friends on who is bringing what to share.

Do I need to bring a lot of extra spending money?
No, well not if you don't want to, lol. They will have some on site artisans there that you can shop from an assortment of handmade items but it's not a must. They are not there to get you to spend a lot of money, they want you to enjoy yourselves! The artisans that will be there are icing on the cake and I know I will end up doing some shopping but I don't feel pressured at all!

Why are you, Nancy, promoting this event so frequently?
First and foremost because I loved attending last year and secondly because I would love to meet as many of my friends there as possible and they are only able to sell 300 seats so hope you don't miss out! Yes, I am helping out on the social side of the event. How? Well just spreading the word and hosting the yahoo group so that we can all get to know each other :)

This event is about US enjoying ourselves and learning, Margie does a great job of making us all feel special and one of the gang! You will enjoy the experience!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have and visit their site often HERE
Thanks for stopping in :)

Another Look at Spark 2010

Hi there! I am taking us back to September 2010 when I attended Spark the Event in Lindon, UT which is just outside of Salt Lake City.  I will be going back this October for Spark No. 3 and I guess you could say I'm trying to entice you in coming along!  They will be posting info over the next few weeks so keep checking as last year they sold out and I'm sure they will this year too!

And I'm also excited to share with you that I will be helping out the Spark Gals by moderating the online Spark the Event Yahoo group for those attending.  We are going to have a blast even before Spark arrives and once you get there it will be like you have known your fellow Spark girls for evah!

Go check out Spark the Event HERE and you will always find a button on my left sidebar so you can click there to go to the site as well. Hope you enjoy my little video ;)
