Sweet things spark memories

Hope you are having a great week, it's almost the weekend yay! For me the weekend has started, you see I have tomorrow off and so hello FOUR day weekend! Saweeeet!

Just wanted to share a photo I took this week for the June 30 PhotoFun I have been doing this month. Today's photo is family and the hubby is gone so I am going to cheat and take a photo tomorrow when I am at lunch with my mom and baby sister!  This one here though turned out so well I had to share it!

If you click on the photo you get to see it up close in all it's glory, yum!

I also had to share a memory that this Strawberry IceCream sparks for me!  My husband's grandmother passed away last year.  I only knew her for three short years and unfortunately when I came along she had already started losing her memory.  She had Alzheimer's and so when I would see her I would have to re-introduce myself each time.  Actually, we all had to tell her who we were it was hard on my hubby.  He was so close to her, he grew up calling her "mommie" and she would tell you that too.  She used to ask to eat a bowl of IceCream several times a day you and shortly after having some she would forget and then ask for some all over again.

She used to tell me "you know what's better than IceCream? More IceCream!" and she would laugh and laugh. How I miss her telling me that over and over, I truly didn't mind one bit!  Love those you have in your lives and make as many memories as you can because you never know when they will be gone or when their memories will be gone.

What sweets Spark your memories?

Thanks for stopping in!

Such sweet memories! My Mami who raised me also loved ice cream and also whipped cream! It was so hard watching her forget so much just before she passed away! Reminds us to cherish every moment with our loved ones... xo
