A Peek at the past

I was looking through some photos tonight and came across some of my favorite cards and mini albums I have created over the past three years and thought I would share some with you.

This was an easy card that I created for a challenge last June as I originally posted HERE, I didn’t win but this card won me over! I made it for a friends birthday and she still has it out on her desk and so when I stop by and see her it makes me happy! Love the colors and the little frame I used is from the Glitz Girls as is the paper, it’s called Audrey Floral.  I started out as a stamper then card maker and since then have tried on all sorts of crafting hats.P6064736

Then there were the Tim Holtz Inspired tags that I created as bookmarkers for some friends. Love creating with Tim’s products, he truly is a genius and he loves to share his knowledge!  I was so lucky to have taken a class last summer with him in Plano and hoping to be able to get into this summer’s classes!PB082925

And oh my gosh! I forgot about the altered Baby Wipe box, LOL.  I made one for myself then decorated one for a friend, the box was the one for my friend.  Too funny!  I recall seeing something like this recently, at the time I created this I simply came up with the idea on my own.  But, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that had the same idea!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA This brings up the issue of creating like items, in this hobby there will often be times that we happen to create similar pieces as others.  Then there will be the times that folks use other’s work as inspiration then there are the times that people flat out copy other peoples work and call it their own.

I always call out anyone whose work has inspired mine and also list their blog addy so that others can visit them and I encourage you to do the same!  There are many wonderful creative people out there that would love to share their ideas so be sure to give them credit!

OK. Back to memory lane, then there was this project back in April of 2009,  I’ve linked back to the post which has a slide show showing you my steps just click HERE. I used the Hot Mama line by the Glitz Girls and their stickers with some modge podge on a mini clipboard. Loved it then and still love it now!  I usually have it holding a photo of sweet Margie Aslett-Romney and her girls but it’s holding my class sign at my LSS for now.

Hope you have a great week and I hope to be back later this week sharing some more goodies!
