From Pringles to Christmas Package

Hi there. Hope all your thanksgiving preparations are going as planned and that you and yours have a wonderful day together. I am thankful for my DH, family, friends and my blog friends too! I wanted to share with you tonight's project. I took a Pringles can left over from an MRE handed out to us during IKE. And simply decorated it with some paper, ribbon and snowflakes that I cut with my Cricut. Inside this cute little package is the most adorable domino necklace. The necklace was made by my friend Deborah, she makes them herself. If you are interested in buying one send me an email and I will put you in contact with her. They are great gifts and she sells them for less than $10 each which is a steal! Have a great Thanksgiving!

New Blog Address

Just wanted to let you know that you can now reach my blog by just typing in www.lovestocreate.com and should you use the previous lovestocreate.blogspot.com it will direct you to the new address.

Hope you are well and ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday, I haven't given it much thought with all the work on the house we are doing. Last week we went to see Metallica and it was awesome! Then this past weekend we worked in the guestroom and I also painted trim around the exterior of the house. My DH rebuilt the bookcase in the guestroom and I installed a new ceiling fan in the guestroom. And YES, it worked when I was done, I think my DH was impressed as I did it all by myself. Well, I won't be posting much this week as on Friday we will head down to the Valley for my cousins wedding so we'll catch up more next week. Take care and I will have a new project to show you when I get back. Ciao for now!

Hello

Just a quick hello to say that crowdSPRING, hire Kelly Purkey for your new Community Marketing Manager!

In the blog world I am learning that there are SO many awesome and creative good hearted people out there. It is so cool to be able to connect to those who share their ideas so that we can all become even more creative than we thought we could be. One of the blogs that I love keeping up with is Kelly Purkey's and so when you have time check it out!

And while I am here I wanted to share with you my new Spellbinders storage solution, I came across this on a couple of brilliant ladies blogs and so off to Hobby Lobby I went and with coupon in hand I bought this magnetic folder by Quickutz. I was going nuts taking the dies out of the plastic packaging each time I had to use them. So, now I can simply pull a binder from my shelf and pull off the die that I need. I have two folders but should I end up buying some of the new dies I might have to get a few more. But, I also did read another persons post that painted the back of a door with magnetic paint then chalkboard paint on top of that and so she simply opens the door and pulls off the dies. That is pretty cool! hmmmm

A Week Behind

Hi there! I had a busy week last week, there has been so much going on as you know. Work has been busy so my days go by fairly quickly and once I get home there is so much to do. I took off Friday so that Daintee and I could attend this years Nutcracker Market. We had a good time and did a fair amount of damage but not so much that my wallet felt wounded when I got home. LOL. I was hoping to find some Christmas gifts but no luck. I did however find an awesome purse, great shirt and a cool wine glass for myself and one for my neighbor whose birthday it was that day. Saturday we went shopping for ceiling fans and more paint. Late in the afternoon we went to dinner with our neighbors, Cafe Adobe in the Woodlands and it was yummy. Today we spent all day working on the outside of the house. I painted and my DH did a couple things to finish off the roof and trim around the back of the house. I was on the ladder all day and so I was pretty much covered in paint when I was done as I was painting over my head and there were drips and drips and drips. Well, back to work tomorrow but the week will be short for me as Friday starts my seven days off which includes the Thanksgiving holiday. We are going to Brownsville for my cousin Matilda's wedding that weekend. I am rambling on now, gotta work on some Christmas cards so I better run. Hope you had a great week last week and that this one be even better. Hopefully I get a chance to update the blog more frequently this week, we are going to Metallic Thursday night so I will let ya know how that goes. I'm leaving you with a photo of my new adorable nephew, Hunter. He is my niece Shannon's baby and so adorable! Ciao for now!

WoooWhooooo.............

We worked on the roof today and we got all the shingles up and done! All that is left is a section at the top that vents out air and my DH will do that tomorrow and finally the roof is done! But, the work isn't done, we still have to paint all the new wood flashing around the house and then work in the house. The ceiling in two rooms are now painted but still lots of painting of walls, trim and install and new carpet. Then on to the fence that has to be replaced and then the patio, insulation in the attic and new gutters. So, it will be another couple of months before all is done. That dang IKE!

On another note, the Craft show was fun but unfortunately the turn out was poor. Thank goodness for the vendors as we bought from each other hehe. But, we did all have some sales to the few that came and so to them we say THANK YOU! One of my friends made the cutest Domino necklaces and so I am going to order at least 6 of them for Christmas gifts! If you are interested in seeing them let me know and I will post a photo and pass along her email addy to you. They were a hit with the girls and were very reasonably priced! Well, hope your week starts out well and we'll catch up more later. Ciao for now.

More Christmas Cards

Here are a couple more cards that I made today, I created 5 of the non traditional christmas cards and 6 of the holly cards. I used some store bought card stock then added the paper, cuttlebug embossed paper and stamped and painted the holy's (rubbernecker stamp) and cut them out. On the non traditional card, I cut some orange cardstock then punched an edge onto it and then stamped the greeting onto white cardstock. I really wanted to make some gifts sets to sell but so far haven't made any. This week will for sure be busy for me so to try to have more to sell. I sure hope we have a good turn out. If not then I will just use all these cards to send out to family and friends verses having to make others for them, lol. Well, it is super late and I must get to bed, ciao and happy Monday.

Gettin My Mojo Back

Hi there! Hope you are having a good weekend! Ours has been OK, work, work and more work but then tonight I got to play so I made some cards. Next weekend is the Christmas Open House and I so do not have enough cards to sell so I need to get back at it! I created 6 cards using my new Snowflakes background stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps. I love the quality of the stamps and so I am so going to order more! I love that they are mounted on cushion so that I can use them on my acrylic blocks and they will be much easier to store. I used Big & Bossy clear embossing ink with Ranger clear embossing powder to stamp the image onto white card stock then embossed and colored the card stock with Faded Jeans Distressed Ink. I also used perfect pearl mixed with water did a light mist on top. I used white ribbon from Michael's to tie around the card then mounted that on a silver metallic card stock then onto the white card. The finishing touch to the front was the silver tag I cut with my Cricut Expression. The inside sentiment is simply Merry Christmas and with that I have 6 cards that I think turned out really pretty! As always click on the photos to see view a larger size.

Home update: Yesterday the drywall folks finished up all three rooms and they were supposed to return today to paint but they didn't show. They didn't even return my call, not good! We will be searching for painters on Monday so hopefully we will get back on track soon.
