Making Christmas Projects with my Cricut

Hello! Sunday is almost over and man I have to go back to work tomorrow! I so wish I could have a fun job like designing cards and stamps! Oh well, back to reality! Today I spent my morning catching up on some episodes of Flipping Out and the other half of the day playing in my studio. I know I've set it before but I'm going to say it again and I'm sure it won't be the last time, I LOVE MY CRICUT! And my DH for getting it for me for my first forty-something birthday!

I am going to participate in a Christmas Open House in November. There will be various women selling homemade items. I plan on selling Christmas cards, Christmas gift tags, and coordinating gift bags. If I have time I might add to that list but we will see....

So, here are some pics of what I did today, I made the gift tags by cutting out the tags, circle and snowflake with the cricut. I did some stamping to the tags, they are cut just as is but I really think they needed to be stamped with some Christmas stamps. I also made a snowflake Christmas card and then cut out a snowflake then embossed it and used a dimensional foam cutout so it would stand off the card. If you have any questions just click on the word comment below my post and leave me a note and I'll get back to you. Ciao!

Seeing Double and Some Heavy Metal

Hi there. Hope you had a great week, it was a busy week for us and so I didn't have a chance to blog much. This week I met up with a good friend, Daintee for dinner and margarita's at Lupe Tortilla's, YUM! It was so good catching up with her, since I live in Conroe I find that it's hard for me to meet up with friends. Why you ask? Well, if I head home directly after work I so don't want to climb back into the car and drive back into town as it takes at least 40mins to get to where most of my friends live. So, I try to make plans to meet up directly after work. Anyway, we had a good visit as always, just wish we could do it more often.

Something else that came up this week is my good friend Kara had to head to San Antonio to see her dad who was in the hospital. He had a terrible blood infection and was quickly added to the donor list and by the grace of god a compatible liver was found mid week. So, I had the pleasure of picking up Addie and Chloe on Thursday after work and brought them home with me. We had fun, picked up some McD's for them and they ate it all up. We went walking down the street and met up with one of our neighbor Nick. The girls are so smart, they picked up on the fact that Nick was wheelchair bound and they wanted to know what happened? why it happened and if the doctor could fix him. It's so sweet how concerned they were but they also looked sad for him. Their attention quickly moved to Andy, he did a great job of keeping them entertained. They really enjoyed playing hide and seek with him, it was cute. Addie stated that she loved Andy and Chloe quickly piped in with "me too". The girls were loads of fun and loaded with lots of WHY questions. LOL. Friday after work I drove them to Giddings to hand them over to Brad's mom Jean. That drive was fun, interesting and LOUD, lol. We sang Twinkle Twinkle, Old McDonald, ABC's and even did some counting. I truly love being around those adorable little girls!!

Saturday, got caught up on some DVR'd shows, the Closer and Flipping out while Andy and Dad worked outside on the trailer. My mom came by and picked me up and we ran a couple of errands, it was nice hanging out with her. Then Andy and I got cleaned up and headed to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for some Heavy Metal! YEP, you read right, we saw Testament, Motorhead, Heaven & Hell and Judas Priest. Why? Well, I love my hubby and so when he said he wanted to go and that I didn't have to....I said oh sweetie I will go! It wasn't so bad either, there was tons of good people watching and the music was pretty good, well we didn't care much for Testament.

Ok, I'm rambling so I will say goodnight now. Goodnight.

Christmas in August

Hope you have had a great weekend, mine was fun. Yesterday I went to my niece Marisa's birthday part at Sweet & Sassy and it was loads of fun! Today has been a lazy day, one that was needed! Here is a peek at my first Christmas card, will start making more soon. I used my Swiss Dots Embossing Cuttlebug Folder, Cricut to cut tree and a new stamp bought at Hobby Lobby.

Pretty In Blue

Here is a card I worked on tonight after I did some cutting with my Cricut on some cards for a co-worker. This card was created from cardstock scraps I had. This is a 4 x 3.75 card, the size was dictated by the size of the card scrap on hand. I used a new acrylic stamp for the bird, not sure if you can see but I embellished it with a few rhinestones. Added some co-ordinating ribbon then used CK Ali Handwriting font for the sentiment inside the card. Hope you are having a great week, the weekend is almost here! Yeah!

Wipes Anyone?

Maybe I should start selling these? Hmmmm.

So, my friend Deborah asked me if I would decorate her wipes dispenser to match her hobby room and so here it is. She and I have basically the same colors and pattern going, she has khaki walls and is using blk furniture and a deeper pink for accents. This time around I used some bling, a girl has to have her bling, even on a wipes dispenser! So, now when she cleans her stamps she will reach for a classy dispenser verses having diaper flash backs! LOL. Hope you have a great Sunday!

Happy Birthday

Hope you are having a great weekend! We slept in and believe it or not we didn't climb out bed till almost noon! My DH did get up and make me coffee, he is so good to me! He has spent most of the day working with his manager so I've been home alone since 1pm! I ran some errands, had to pick up a last minute birthday gift for my sweetie. I went a little overboard, but it his Bday and he spoils me all the time so I totally can't help but spoil him back! I had some ideas of what to get him, thought a GPS would be totally cool then we heard about folks getting their cars broken into for them so that was out the window. I know, just hide it when we leave the truck right! Hmmm, not sure my sweetie would do that, you know how boys are, lol. Well, he did give me a list of things he really wanted and so off I went. I got him some Neoprene seat covers for his new truck, a phone cover for his blackberry, an Atlas of Texas, a couple of seasons of one of his favorite shows "Cheers" and a gift card for Itunes. And NO he won't see this blog so I don't have to worry about him seeing this although he went searching for gifts one day and found some so he knows about three of the items called out above. Note to self, must hide his gifts at mom's house in the future! He loves funny cards so I ended up picking up a store bought card, then I saw another card that was even funnier so grabbed card two today. And I couldn't pass up making him a card too so that is what you see in today's post. I know the colors aren't too fun but it is SO hard making a masculine card! So, figured that these colors would help with that and I think it worked, although I couldn't resist adding some glitter, hehe. And if any of you are wondering how long it takes to make a simple card like this, it took me 30mins. I could make duplicates quicker but the first card always takes longer, have to think up the design then my anal side comes in and I have to make sure it all is straight and cute, lol. The inside of the card holds his itunes gift card, that turned out cool too! Well, enjoy the rest of your evening and we'll see ya soon. Ciao!

Birthday Girl

Hello there! Hope you have had a great week and that you are ready for the weekend! I worked on a birthday card for my niece Marisa tonight. Her birthday is coming up and she is having a party at Sweet & Sassy next weekend. I haven't used pens in forever so I am kinda rusty, don't look too close. lol I also used a stamp that I have had for over 10yrs from a company that is no more, DOTS. The wings were an add on, the acrylic stamp set is by Hot off the press, Flights of Fancy. I bought the set at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon. So, I first stamped the little girl on the cardstock, then stamped the same image on a post it note. I cut it out and layed it on top of the image on the cardstock so to not stamp over her, masking. I then stamped the butterfly wings and then colored away. I used an oval nestabilities die for the white cardstock. Overall I think it turned out cute, I look forward to using more of the Flights of Fancy stamps.

Cute card for a sad reason

It is with a heavy heart that I had to make this card to send to my Aunt Janie. The youngest of her three sons passed away last month. Christopher was in his early 30's, much too young to leave his family and friends. He lived in Key West most of his life and it was a good life! I used a blank orange card from Target and used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add the swiss dots. I used my oval nestabilities, stamp from Hobby Lobby and chocolate ribbon from Michaels.
Have a great Thursday!

Work In Progress

So I did do a little work in my studio, here is a peek, it is a gift so I can't show it completely. I used my cricut to cut out the words using the Alphalicious cartridge. I also used my cuttlebug to cut out the butterflies and I'm sure you recognize my favorite Rhonna Farrah Swirl Stamp! I will tell you that this is a 5.5" Cube that I snagged at HL on clearance. I sure do love those clearance items!

Hello

Hello friends!
I have been MIA on my blog! Can you believe that I hadn't posted since last Sunday! I had a busy week last week at the office well, M-W as I was off Thur/Fri and I'm off Mon/Tue! Boy, this posting is boring so far! I spent Thursday shopping with my mom, Friday I did laundry ALL day and we headed to see my DH's parents Sat and Sunday. My in-laws found a new house and took us over to see it and they were so sweet to ask our opinions, we loved it. I am awake at this hour because when we got home today from Tyler we took a long long nap! I plan on spending Monday working in my studio and Tuesday I will do the same or I might watch HGTV all day? Well, since I don't have anything really interesting to say I will sign off for now. Ciao.
