It's the little moments

Hope you had a great week! I was really busy at the office and so mine flew by and I'm ready for some down time and craft studio time!  Be sure you come back and visit soon, I have some fun things to share and I know you won't want to miss it!

Hoping all those on the East Coast stay safe while Hurricane Irene heads in for a visit, keeping you all in my prayers!

For now I leave you with this photo I took of the tree that fell on our house back in 2008 during Hurricane Ike.  It's amazing how during a devastation like that you can still find beauty!  As my hubby was cutting down the tree I took some time to take photos for the insurance company and to remember how precious life is. I know, the insurance adjuster doesn't want to see how pretty the cut down tree is but this shot was for me.

A Friends Special Day

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  We here in Texas are going through the HOTTEST summer we have had in a long time!  So, in order to keep cool I stay in doors most of the time, ha!  Today I started my day really early, had some coffee, played some Words With Friends then started doing my weekend chores.  Then once I got our dinner going in the crockpot I went into my studio to create the page I am sharing with you today.

I have some friends who shared their special day with us on and so wanted to document it on this great paper "Posh" by Teresa Collins.  Want to know a secret?!  I have been hoarding this paper and finally decided I needed to create with it!  Love how it turned out and it does have journaling to it, but in true Nancy form it is hidden.

You can click on all photos to see them in a larger size.

Here is the page, it's simple not too much going on and I like how it turned out except for one thing.  Now that I have it photographed and cropped that space between the family photo and the "m" piece is a bit odd to me.  I think I should have centered the family photo a bit better so I may have to add a little something to that spot?  What do you think?

Above you can see where I have pulled out the journaling card and highlighted it for you.  It is a folded card and it's inside that card that I have written down my thoughts about their special day.  I simply used some stampin' up dimensional's to pop up the photo piece.  I was sure to put dimensional's in just the right spot. By doing that its stop my journaling card where so it would allow for it to peek out.

In the photo above I wanted to share with you a little info on the "M" piece, you see that isn't the monogram for the family's last name.  Nope, it is the first letter of ALL their names!  YEP! How cool is that!  And another secret, I was a total ditz and didn't catch on to that until they got married, ha!

My friends decided to do things a little backwards but I think it worked out just right!  They first got together, then bought a house then had two beautiful boys to fill it.  Then, after being together for 10 years they decided to make it official and had a beautiful wedding on 10.10.10!  How cool is that!

Well, thanks for stopping in and hope you are staying cool and having a great weekend!

And she's back... with Birthday Cards!

Hello Friends!

Well, I took a much needed break and didn't do much creating!  I tried a few times but I just didn't have my mojo going ya know!  Well, I had my niece and brothers birthday dinner to attend Saturday night and so I knew it was a chance to get back into my studio.  I made these cards today, two were cards that I was going to give and the other four were two each for my brother and dad to give to the birthday girl and boy.

They are very basic cards and I used lots of scrap pieces I had on hand and even though they are simple cards I loved how they turned out.  Hope you are having a great weekend and I hope to be back on more regularly!

The cards can be seen closer by clicking on the photos, I am sharing the front and inside of most cards. Thanks for looking!

So I know that the card stock behind the cake looks red but it really did match the fuchsia diamonds.
Not sure why it looks so red in the photo.
