Junking in Warrenton, Texas

My hubby had a great weekend planned for us, it started out with a concert on Friday night to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and ZZ Top.  We enjoyed the show and it brought back memories of a trip I took with my friend Gina years ago.  We drove through Utah in a convertible playing  TP’s greatest hits!  Then today we headed to Warrenton Texas which is just past Round Top Texas.  Twice a year they hold this huge antique weekend and folks from all over the states come to sell and buy.  I like going the weekend prior to Round Top as it seems more affordable and a bit more junking to be had.   It’s Fall now but it doesn’t feel like Fall here in TEXAS!!!  It was so hot and humid so that took some of  the fun out of it, it even seems hotter than when we were there in the Spring!  I went hoping to find some goodies to include in some of my upcoming class projects.  I scored some great colorful buttons that I know the ladies will love!  I also bought a few blue mason jars although I didn’t get the small one I really wanted.  The guy wanted $335 for a set of 7 that are “highly” desirable he said.  I decided they weren’t that desirable to me!

Here are a few photos that I took this year, I didn’t take quite as many as I did the last time but the ones I took are interesting I think, and I used my camera in manual mode.  Trying to put to use the skills I learned while at Spark, I didn’t alter any of the photos :)

The photo below is sorta creepy but cool, they had 100’s and 100’s of doll parts there! P9259402

The window frames below I spotted through out the tents, I didn’t take a hard look at them but I think it was done with vinyl from the back.  The colors were beautiful however I had the wrong ISO setting so you can’t see how nice they really looked. P9259403

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, I am SO bummed! I moved here in the spring just after it, and had planned to go to it this fall. I guess I missed it...again. :( Your pictures are great, by the way. And I'm excited to find your blog and that you live so close!
