Is there a right or a wrong way to scrapbook?

Do you scrapbook with pictures in mind or do the pictures come in the end?  I do both but this weekend I started a layout without photos in mind.  I am going to be teaching a layout class at my LSS starting in April.  So, I had to come up with a layout to teach, a make and take and a suggested layout and I did so without a photo in mind.  I picked up some of the Dear Lizzy by American Crafts line that The Lone Star Scrapbooking Co is carrying along with a few elements.  I had no idea what I wanted to do other than something fun, easy and in 3D.  So far this is what I have come up with, now I need to head out and take some photos to use in my Spring Layout.  I haven’t glued down anything so it could very well be changed up once I cut down my photos??  If you are in the Houston area and are interested in learning more about my upcoming class check back later this week for more details.  Hope you have had an awesome weekend!

So after I had posted this piece I went back to doing some house cleaning and then an idea came to mind and I quickly ran into my craft studio and created some flowers.  So now the layout looks like this, please excuse the photo both cameras had dead batteries so had to use my cell phone to take this picture.  LOL

I always have the picture first. I don't know why but that is what I do:)

I would love to live closer to you so I could come to the class. Congrats!

Hey Nancy,
I like those flowers! I think that layout could also make up into some cute Spring cards too! (I don't really DO scrapbooking but love to buy the paper and other stuff.)
