Share the Love

Wanted to share with you a couple of projects I worked on this evening, I am preparing for a craft night with the girls this coming Wednesday. I intended on using some doilies but never made it to the store to pick them up so I will upload more photos this week to include other elements. For now let’s take a look at what I worked with.  Tonight I had not one but two machines running, I used the Cricut Expression to cut out the Pink circle and white scallop circle.  While my CE was busy cutting those two elements I used my new Silhouette SD to cut the House of 3 “Forever” and heart and cupid.  Loved running both machines I felt so efficient, LOL or should I say spoiled *wink*.  I used my House of 3 Valentine circles and simply punched them out with my 2” punch.  I also printed out and cut the adorable Dear Valentine background also from the House of 3.  If you are interested in any of those products head on over to the House of 3.  I also wanted to let you know that the incredible women who are the House of 3 are going to share their Valentine creations beginning tomorrow so be sure to visit, the House of 3 blog as Rhonna, Janet and Heidi are sure to WOW us as always!

Valentine Layout Sneak Peek

Just wanted to give you a sneak peek at a layout I am working on for this year’s Valentine photo.  I am loving how it is looking and can’t wait to add the photos!  I am not actually going to use a photo taken on Valentines (not sure yet if my DH will be in town or on his work week away) so I’ve come up with a cute idea for a photo shoot for us.  For now here is your sneak peek.

Keeping it Simple

Wanted to share another layout that I did, this one I started and finished within 30mins. I have been saving this paper for the perfect layout and this is it. The photo that I am journaling is one taken by my talented cousin Leslie Ann! I didn’t want to take away from the photo so I simply added some black behind the photo then used some digital elements to create the Journal tag. To dress it up a bit I added a few rhinestones and the flower. What do you think? I like how it turned out, keeping it simple allows for the photo to shine!

Journal Spot reads: Wonderful, beautiful, Amazing Are just a few of the words that come to mind when I see this photo that Leslie Ann took! My beautiful cousin has a great eye! She is a wonderful photographer and I’m so proud of her! Can’t wait to see more of her work! Love you cousin! Thanksgiving 09’

First layout for 2010

Hey there! Hope you had a great weekend, we did!  This weekend my DH and I spent it with our sweet niece Alexa.  She is almost 8 and loves spending time with her uncle and aunt!  We took her out for dinner on Friday, then she and I created in my craft studio Saturday morning.  Later that day we ended up at Build a Bear and she made herself an Alvin and off to the movies the three of us went.  We saw Alvin and the chipmunks and I was dreading it but ended up loving it. Her uncle was a good sport and I think I even heard him chuckle a few times!  Today we played in the craft studio yet again and this layout is what I “ACCOMPLISHED”.  I am so proud of myself for finishing it because in the middle of doing this layout I had to leave to go drop her off.  It is so easy not to come back and finish but had to, after all “ACCOMPLISH” is my word of the year!  The only catch is that the photo isn’t a true photo and so I’ll have to run by my local photo shop tomorrow.  But, I’m still calling this as finished. LOL

Hope to see you there!

One more day and we get to find out what incredible things Heidi and the other two fabulous ladies from House of 3 have in store for us! This is a free webcast so if you have time you should stop in and if you don’t no worries Heidi is going to record it so you can go back and view it.  Incase you didn’t know I have named myself the “Unofficial” President of the House of 3 addicts, LOL.  I downloaded the new HO3 Valentine goodies and so I will start creating this weekend and hope to have some stuff to share by Monday the 11th.  With my commitment to the word ACCOMPLISH for 2010 I am going to get back to being a better blogger and sharing some of my work. All in hopes that my fellow bloggers will find something they like and then maybe try it out too.  Hope your Monday was great and that Tuesday is even better! Hugs from Texas!

My word for the year 2010

I struggled on what I wanted my WORD to be for this new year but finally came up with ACCOMPLISH.
Miriam-Webster Dictionary describes it as:
Main Entry: ac·com·plish
Pronunciation: \ə-ˈkäm-plish, -ˈkəm-\
Function: transitive verb
Etymology: Middle English accomplisshen, from Anglo-French accompliss-, stem of accomplir, from Vulgar Latin *accomplēre, from Latin ad- + complēre to fill up — more at complete
Date: 14th century
1 : to bring about (a result) by effort <have much to accomplish today>
3 : to succeed in reaching (a stage in a progression) <would starve before accomplishing half the distance — W. H. Hudson †1922>
4 archaic a : to equip thoroughly b : perfect

I have found that I often start projects and never finish them or at least not in a timely manner.  I also need to accomplish the goals I have given myself for this new year.  I can tell this is going to be a great year and I will ACCOMPLISH many great things!  I hope that you will come by my blog often as I plan to share with you many of my accomplishments!
To learn more about why I chose a word for the year go and visit Ali Edwards here.
2 : to bring to completion : fulfill <we can accomplish the job in an hour>
