So, today I came directly home, cooked dinner and quickly retired to my studio. I pulled out the cuttlebug and nestabilities and put them to work. It was so easy and quick to make the scallops and circles. I used Bazill papers, the photos don't do the card justice as the colors are much brighter. I decided to use a black cardstock for the card so that the fuschia and green would really pop and they do. Although I love my new cricut this cuttlebug (which is made by the same company Provo Craft) will be really handy when I need to do a quick card. I only have two sets of the nestabilities so I limited to what I can do with the cuttlebug for now. What is really neat is that I can also use my dies from my quickutz squeeze! I know, you are starting to think I am either spoiled or addicted to shopping for my studio, lol. I will say it is a little of both, lol. With the purchase of the cuttlebug and zutter binder I decided that I needed to move things around. So, I moved my Cricut to the bookshelf and the cuttlebug and zutter binder followed. I will have to get after my DH to get back to his honey-do-list and build that new built in bookcase! I need more storage space!! AND, I failed to mention that I bought my cuttlebug at 50% off! I had been eyeing it for sometime but knew I wouldn't buy it without a 50% off coupon from Michael's!! Hope your weekend started out well, ciao.

Mission Accomplished

Hope you all had a great weekend! The gals and I went to Scrap-a-ganza and although it wasn't as large as we had hoped we had a really good time. We did some free make-n-takes, some that cost a couple bucks and of course we did some shopping. I came home with some great stuff, some bling, some velvet diecut trim and other fun stuff. But, the two things that I didn't even think I would come home with were the Zutter Binder and a couple sets of Nestabilities! Both were on sale for the show and so I just couldn't walk out of there without purchasing them. I didn't get to come home and play with them last night as I had to prepare for Sunday company. I hope to play with my new toys this week and I will be sure to share my creations soon after. Follow this link to Stamping Mathilda's site, she has the cutest tag book she made and used her zutter binder. Ciao for now!

TGIF
Well, this week went by like a flash, I took on some additional accounts at work and boy did they keep me super busy! It was great though, got a lot accomplished and it helped my days fly by. I was glad to get home after a longer than usual drive home. I'm not sure why but it seems like on Fridays all of Houston is trying to head north out of town? I got home to my DH and this adorable little note! It put a smile on my face, tonight we didn't do any home cooking, it was Pizza night. Well, my DH surprised me with some extra $ to spend at tomorrow's scrapbook expo, he is just too good to me! Off to bed I go to dream of tomorrow's shopping and make-n-takes, hope your weekend started out as well as mine did. Ciao for now.
Quickie

A new friend gave me the cutest purse yesterday, she had seen me in some animal print shoes and knew that a purse she had still in it's wrapping would go great with my shoes. And so she was kind enough to gift me the bag as a belated birthday gift and so I made her this card last night. I was going to wait till the weekend to make the card to be sure that I made a special card but I just couldn't wait. This card took all of 8 to 10mins and although it's simple I think it turned out cute! I used Bazill card stock for both the green and pink. I also used a stampin up stamp and stampin up ink, and I finished off the card by using my new custom stamp which I ordered off of Etsy.com from Sweet Papery. The pink ribbon like is paper and I used my purple cow to cut it from cardstock. I also used some of the ink and sponged the edges of the cutout for a little bit more color. I will say that it is very hard for me not to do too much for cards and so it took all I had not to stamp in the area right of the circle window, lol. Well, this weekend my friend Deborah and I are going to Scrap-a-ganza expo in Stafford Texas, can't wait! I will be sure to let you all know what we saw and if we were good girls and didn't overshop. *As always you can click on the pics to see them in a larger view and the pink words are links.

Cricut Crush
Yep, I have a crush on my new Cricut! It is really cool and I used it a few times this weekend when working on my friend's project. I had made her a page using the colors from her master bedroom and photos of her weekend trip to NY when she got engaged. She later came to me asking about supplies to make another and I couldn't resist offering to make it for her. She wanted one with photos from her wedding. The pages turned out really cute, once I get her permission to post them I will. Hope your week starts out well!

June Birthdays.....Summer Fun!
Hello All! Well the month of June brings many birthdays for me, my dear friend Gina is on the 7th then there is my friend Brad on the 12th and then Kara and Kelly on the 13th! Then on to Lori on the 20th and mine on the 21st and then Judy brings up the rear on the 29th. Happy Birthday to you all! Tonight, my sweetie and I met our friends Kara/Brad, and Christina/Roy at Chuy's in The Woodlands! We had some great drinks and great food too! It was a great time, mostly they made fun of how dingy I have become since I became a Mrs. he he. My sweet friends gave me a charm each for my Pandora Bracelet. I got a sweet little girl that represents Kara and Brad's twin girls Addie and Chloe. And Christina and Roy gave me a suitcase charm as they are quite the travelers. It is so cool to look at my bracelet and be reminded of my loved ones! Then when Andy and I got home he decided to give me my birthday gift early, after all it's only 3 days away and who am I to tell him no :) He is such a sweetheart!! He knew exactly what I wanted, OK so I did mention a couple of months ago a few items that I would like someday but it was he who did the choosing. Here is what my sweetie got me! Isn't he the best!! Texas Hill Country
Hello folks! My DH and I took off Thursday morning for the Texas Hill country, specifically Fredericksburg TX. Our first stop was at the Historic Site of Fort Martin Scott , we walked the grounds and took some photos. We then found a cute Inn to stay in and once we got our stuff settled we headed out to walk Main St to browse the shops. Unfortunately, many of the shops closed by 5:30 and so we got here too late to see all the shops but there is always tomorrow morning. We tried out a German meal for dinner, we liked it but doubt we will be eating it anytime soon. We decided to drive out to The Tunnel to see the bats and that was super cool. We drove down a country road and saw tons of Texas wildlife. Here are a couple of pics, hope you had a great Thursday and if I get a chance again I will post more of our weekend trip. Tomorrow we will head out to Odessa to visit the In-Laws. Adios!

Birthday Gift
Hello Folks! Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was AWESOME, it started out with a Friday night in my Pinkalicious Craft Room working on my friends Bday gift. Saturday spent most of the day cleaning then packed a bag for a trip to the beach after after dinner. Friday was my DH and I's 1st year anniversary of our first date! Yep, for those of you who don't know me too well, my DH proposed to me after only a few weeks of knowing me, a fairy tale come true! OK, back to the weekend, so we went to Ruth Chris's Steakhouse and it was AWESOME! We will definitely be going back in August for Andy's birthday (mine is just another week away, he he). We then headed to Galveston for a night's stay then spent some time on the beach on Sunday. It was a great time although we weren't too smart in that we didn't use the proper sunscreen (which we had with us) and so we came home "RED"!
So, now let's move on to the birthday gift I made for my dear friend Kara, mother of two beautiful twins! I have taken a few pics to show you how it turned out, I think it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! I used an inspiration from both Ali Edwards and Nichole Heady, mine was much more like Nichole's version of Ali's book. I had all the the supplies on hand minus the photos that I snagged from her Snapfish account, thanks to the help of her hubby. I didn't have a book on hand the size I needed and so I took some cardboard I had on hand and cut it down to the size I needed and covered it with paper. It was a little tricky and so it's not perfect but that is what gives it character right? I then took the photos and made three different sections. The first I cut down to 4x4, the second to 4x5 and left the third section as 4x6's. I used more photos then what Nichole called out in her book, it was so hard to edit! I will save you from the rest of the details. Here are some photos, enjoy.

New Friends
Every day I am amazed at today's technology and also glad that there are so many folks out there that put it to good use. I really enjoy meeting friends via the internet on blogs and one of my new friends is Jeanette from Virginia. I have mentioned her blog before, it is one that I can't go a day without checking. She has so many awesome items listed on her blog and from what she shares with us I have come to realize that she and I have so many similar interests. After viewing her blog many, many times I took the plunge and emailed her asking for info on the paint she used in her craft studio. It was that email that started our new friendship, I am glad to know Jeanette even if it is from a distance! With all that said, I have been tagged by Jeanette so here it goes, my "Four Things".

Father's Day Cards
As promised here are a couple of shots of the Father's Day cards I made. I wanted to keep them simple so I used card stock and some paper I had on hand and used Stampin' Up stamp. The blue area is where I will write the sentiment. On one of the cards I used my new glitter from Doodlebug purchased at my LSS and applied it to stampin' up sticky tape, worked great!

Blog Worth Visiting
Thanks to one of my favorite bloggers I came across a blog today that is by Nichole Heady who is with Papertrey Ink. When you have time check it out, she has loads of projects loaded to her blog that are to die for! I am in the process of working on a birthday gift for a dear friend and so once I have that completed I will post photos, well after I give her the gift that is. The idea is from one that Nichole used from Ali Edwards so you know it is cute. This past weekend I worked on three Father's Day cards and a birthday card and so will post those tonight. It is getting hotter each day here in Houston and along with the heat is the high humidity, YUCK. I have lived here for 34yrs and it never gets easier, oh well. This past weekend I spent a few hours out in the yard working and then quickly retreated to my cool pinkalicious scraproom! Our weather in the summer is just another great reason to stay in my scraproom!
