I hope you had a great weekend! I sure did and it started out with working on a birthday gift for my friend Janet who happens to be “the Janet” of the House of 3! I got to spend Saturday with her at By Design, she had some great projects for us to make and we all had a blast! What made it an even better day is that I got to spend it with some new friends made during class! I have said it before and I will say it again, you meet some incredible people when you are in the paper crafting hobby!!
Here is what I made Janet using some of the House of 3 Spring Junque which I customized a bit using Photoshop. I think she liked it! Sorry for my poor picture quality but it was late at night when I took the photo. The entire project only took me a couple of hours if that and I had everything I needed at home.
OK, so now on to our class projects, in the first class we made some jewelry and a gift box to display it and gift it in. It turned out so adorable, we all enjoyed the project and loved how easy it was to create! Most of the items used are all from the House of 3, the heart shaped box and the papers are HO3 however the jewelry pieces are not House of 3.
Then she had a brief class on what the House of 3 is all about (yes I know you are wondering why I took that since I’m a HO3 junkie, well it was free since I took the other two classes) We got to do a make and take and it was also lots of fun and we all made different ones, sorry I didn’t photograph some of the others as they were way cuter than mine! You can go here to get the template, wouldn’t these be cute for a shower, wedding, bday party! You could fill these cones with all sorts of yummies!
There’s more you ask? Yes, I took a total of three classes with Janet and the last class we had some additional folks join in on the fun and fun it was! We created an adorable 5x8.5 mini album using the Spring Junque papers along with some cute mini pocket folders and some clear Bazzill for the front and back. The assembly of this mini album is like that of the mini sweetheart album I created back in February, Heidi shared a tutorial in one of her Wednesday night Live shows. If you are interested in viewing it let me know and I will find the link for ya ;)

I should mention that the front of my book is a little different than the others as I used a different piece on mine and so if you want to see the original go to Janet’s post here to see the one she used, it’s adorable.
And if this post wasn’t already long enough I have to mention that I got to meet Margie Romney Aslett who was teaching the same day at Scrapbook Junkie which lucky for me was less than a 5 minute drive. We were lucky that the first class Janet taught ended sooner than expected so we had time before our lunch break to head over to see Margie. And yes! I bought two of the class kits she was teaching and YES!!! She is as adorable in person as she is online! Here is a photo of the two of us, I hate getting photographed but had to share this photo with you anyway!!
OK, so I’m going to share one more pic of me, my outfit was too cute if I do say so myself, hehe. Gotta love some pink/gray camo and what better place to wear my pink gear then at the pink store By Design Scrapbook Boutique.
If any of my new friends from Saturday stopped in to visit my blog I’m glad you did and I truly had a great time meeting you!
*hugs from Conroe, TX!
