Metamorphosis Monday

It’s been a few months since I participated in this awesome web party! Susan over at Naps on the Porch hosts Met Monday and many awesome blogs play along with Before/After photos.  Hope you have time to click here and check it out!

This before picture is what the extra bedroom looked like when my hubby bought our home.  This is one of the first two rooms that was immediately redone when I moved in. Not sure what the previous owner was thinking?

Family

I love spending time with family and this weekend I did just that. This adorable little girl is my niece and she and I did a little shopping Friday and Saturday. We had tons of fun and we also watched some Disney channel. We watched the Witches of Waverly Place and it was so cute! I forget that they show some cute movies on that channel. She is sporting one of the new outfits she got this weekend.

P8295288I have also played a bit today in my craft studio trying to finish up my “Things I Love” mini album. I’ve had a tough time staying motivated to create. What do you do to help you stay motivated? Hope you have a great week!

My adorable nephew!

Wanted to share with you my nephew, isn’t he absolutely adorable!  This is the announcement card I designed for them.   I bought the monkey digital art from PcCrafter and then used Photoshop CS2 to create it.  This is the second announcement I’ve done and the first in a 4x8. Thanks to one of my favorite photographers, I heard about scrapbookpictures.com and so I simply uploaded the file and ordered the photo cards and envelopes.

The Girls Loft

Hope your Sunday is going well, the weekend is almost over.  Today I have been playing in my craft room with a kit from The Girls Loft.  In an earlier post today I shared a picture of all the items that came in the kit.  Well, so far I have worked on the cover and two pages.  I still need to add photos but I wanted to share what I have.  If you are a scrapbooker who finds little time to shop for items to create then kits may be the way to go!  The Girls Loft was started by Margie and her daughters, Megan & Brooke.  I’m lovin’ the papers and embellishments that they have chosen.  You can do as I have and add more of your own stash or just use what they send you.  That is part of the fun, it’s all up to you!  Hope you have time to go check them out as they are having a giveaway!  Hurry, it ends tonight!  Click here to go check out their blog!

Put to Good Use

I wanted to share with you photos of my awesome $40 steal mentioned earlier this month, click here for that post.

I was originally going to use it to display cards I and a friend of mine had made but then decided to use it for storage.  I have some great Tim Holtz items that were tucked away in the closet. But, here they will be sure to get more use since I see them out in the open. I created a digital birth announcement yesterday and today I plan on working with some of my Girls Loft goodies to make a mini album. Hope you have a great day!

Inspiring Photographers

I have been following many photographers and let me tell you there are some talented women out there folks! One of my favorites is Karen Russell and you can find here by clicking here to see Karen's Blog.  She takes incredible photos of her family and just recently shared some photos of a bride and groom that turned out amazing.  Please visit her blog when you have time!

And then tonight I found out about a Texas photographer, Johanna McShan that is out of Austin that is also so very talented! I am going to add her logo to my sidebar so that folks can link to her at any time! She did the bridal session for a friend of mine, Stephanie.  You will be amazed at the awesome shots she got! How I wish I had known of this photographer when I was getting married! I think that my hubby and I need to go see her for a photo session to celebrate our upcoming second wedding anniversary! haha.  Go check out Johanna by clicking here Johanna's Blog.   Ciao for now!

Victorious

I am feeling victorious! Why? Because over the weekend I was browsing Craig's List and came across an ad that had photos loaded in photobucket. So as I browsed for something I might need I saw a sliver of what looked like the Potterybarn Photo Carousel and wondered if that too was for sale? I sent my sis a text as she lived not even a block away from where the sale was at and she didn't call me back. I live about an hour away from where the sale was going on and so I wasn't able to get away at the time to go check it out so I just knew it was going to be bought out from under me! Well, Monday came along and I emailed the seller and no response and so a girlfriend and I drove over during our lunch hour as it was not far from the office. Still no answer, it was a salon that was closing and no one was there! Off to lunch we went and just as we were leaving I saw an email hit my blackberry from the seller! She still had it and so I got it for.............................JUST $40! Your read right! $40, this is no longer sold at Pottery Barn and when you could buy it we believe it sold for over $100 (The 5ft one shown in the photo is the one I got). I was so excited to get it and it's going in my craft room to hold cards and photos. I will post a photo of it once I have it set up in my craft room. Ciao for now!
