My Dad

Will be staying with us for a few weeks while he is recovering from his knee replacement surgery.  He was at the hospital for one week then at a rehabilitation facility for two and I felt so sad for him so I’m glad to be able to bring him home to our house.

I created this House of 3 storyboard to share a couple of photos of my dad so you could see how cute he is!  I can tell he is in much better spirits now that he is out of that place and I think being here with us will also be a nice change for him.  Incase you are wondering my parents are divorced and so my dad doesn’t have a wife to help take care of him.

A New Orleans Storyboard

Just wanted to share with you the storyboard I made using a collage storyboard template bought over at House of 3.  You can leave as is or even add some brushes and even a background to it to give it some bling.

For now I am going to leave it as is so I can get going on today’s to-do’s.  Later this evening I plan to tweak it further and share with you what I came up with.

Have a great Saturday!

Got Photoshop?

I was looking at some of the photos I took this past weekend in New Orleans.  It was a good time but some of the photos didn’t pop the way they did to me when taking them.  So I decided to play around with one in Photoshop and thought I would share with you the results.

Here is the Before photo:

NO Bar 1 Plain smNotice that the sky is barely blue and the building although it is cool and old it doesn’t pop.  This is Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar, it is the oldest bar in New Orleans.

Here is the After photo:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA So what do you think? Here I played with the curves to make the building pop. When I was done it was ok but the sky was still faded so I simply used my lasso tool to choose the sky area and then went back and tweaked it with the curves tool again.  It’s amazing what you can do with the software out there!  I think the after photo might look like a pro took it but it was just me and my Olympus DLR.

I’m hoping that if I uploaded the photos correctly they will allow you to click on them to see them in a larger size. Thanks for stopping in and hope to be back with more of my paper crafting soon! My dad should be coming to stay with us within the next few days.  This will be easier on us as spending time at the Rehabilitation Center took time away from our home chores.  Now Dad can be here at our place and do as he wishes, or should I say as much as his recovering rebuilt knee will allow him to do.

I’m still here

I have been super busy and haven’t had a chance to blog and very little time to read blogs but have tried to here and there.  My dad had knee replacement surgery and I’ve been busy with him.  I will most likely be missing in action for a while as he will be coming to stay with us during his recovery.  Have lots to do to get his room ready, I have a full time job so that means my time away from the office will be spent doing chores, fun…  Hope to get some creating time in but not sure when? Have a great week, Hugs from Conroe, TX!
