Tim Holtz

Just wanted to share a quick peek at the project we worked on with Tim Holtz.  The guy is a genius and has a great personality!  He taught us some great techniques and if you ever have a chance to take one of his classes DO IT!  The photo of the album cover was taken while in class and it is not the finished product.

Baby Boy

I had someone put in an order for a “special” baby card for her daughter’s first baby.  Hmmm, “special” what exactly does she see as special?  Well, I didn’t get to talk to the person who requested the card.  I was simply told to use baby blue and chocolate as the colors.  Well, at least that is what I remember reading in a text message.  You would think I would have checked but didn’t.  Let’s hope that is right cause there is no turning back.  I tried my hand at the Tri-fold Shutter card and I do believe I like it and will definitely be using that design again!  Here are some photos for you to view.

Hope you have great weekend  plans! I have a very busy weekend starting with tonight! A class with Debbie Schuh then on Saturday a friend and I will be driving north of Houston to Plano, TX which is just north of Dallas.  Why? To take a class given by the one and only Tim Holtz! We are so excited!  Have a great weekend!

Winner!

I used Random.org to pick the winner, love that site! I entered the Min #1 and Max #13 as there were only 13 entries this time around.  Lucky for you gals that my birthday fell on Father’s Day so not many folks were reading blogs.  At least that is what I am going to pretend to think, surely it wasn’t that no one was interested in what I had to say that day, haha.

Min: 1 Max: 13

Result: 8

Birthday Giveaway

Hi all! As promised I’m having a giveaway to celebrate my 42nd birthday!  All you have to do is leave a comment by Midnight Central Time, Monday June 22nd.

Prize: Your choice of a $25 Gift Certificate from either Two Peas in a Bucket or Scrapbook.com or Target.com all some of my fav’s!

Today I get to share my birthday with all the Father’s out there!  My weekend has been a great one! My DH has spoiled me as always! It started on Wednesday with a new 26” LCD TV for my craft studio so I can watch all my favorite shows as I create!  Then he gave me a beautiful diamond necklace on Friday!  And this morning on my actual birthday he served me breakfast in bed! Isn’t he awesome! He is so good to me, I am so blessed to have a  wonderful man who loves me so much and who showers me with love and I don’t mean the gifts!  Each day he tells me he loves me and calls me his pretty! Oh how I love him and he was so worth the LONG, LONG wait!  Holding out till I was 40 was a good thing, and to think I thought I wasn’t going to ever meet my Mr.. Right!

Want to leave you with a couple of photos of one of the birthday cards I received, it was perfect and thanks to Facebook I was recently reunited with my long lost friend Karen who sent me this card!

Dad and A Birthday Giveaway Coming

Hi there! You may have noticed that I have been spending less time on my blog. It's not by choice just a lot going on at work that has me tired and not as motivated to get online on my off time. I have been so busy that I just got a Father's Day card completed and it has to go into the mail tomorrow! YIKES! I always have a tough time making a masculine card and so this time I tried not to put too much thought into it. The results turned out not too bad, but I still feel that I am missing the mark on many of my cards. This year I am not only celebrating Father's Day on the 21st but my 42nd birthday as well! In honor of my birthday I will be having a giveaway on Sunday so check back to see what you could possibly win!

Got card?

How many times have you realized that you forgot you needed a card for a Birthday, Thank you, Sympathy….

Well, for those of you who don’t use stamps to create cards how about digital?  This morning when I awoke I was going to run up to Target to get a couple of Sympathy cards. Then I realized that I probably could make them on my own using some of the digital art I had on my laptop.  The cards you see here I Christicreated this morning in under an hour, could have been shorter but I was goofing off as I worked, he he.  I used some digital files I purchased at House of 3 recently to print the patterned paper and the images are also from Ho3 as well.  I simply clicked a few buttons to arrange them and then hit print.   I did do a liNeldattle distressing to them and added some other cardstock.  But, you could actually omit all that and still make a great card! Had I taken more time I probably could have made them cuter but I think they are fine as is.  Hope you have a great weekend!

If you are interested you still have till midnight tonight Saturday June 6th (US Mountain Time) just click HERE to go to their site. What can you win? Well if you win this week's contest you get some great prizes from Zutter as shown below the Grand Prize.

Grand Prize shown above and this week's prize sponsored by Zutter shown below.

Here is the sketch that we are to work off from this week. I hope I get picked to move on to round two!For my card I used some Bazzill cardstock to make the Fuschia base for the card, then I used some Stampin UP Green Galore cardstock to do my scallop edge. I trimmed it with bling found at Target's $1 section. The patterned paper is by Glitz Design and it's called Audrey Floral don't you just love it! The Frame is also from Glitz Design it's a Sticker Cardstock which I simply applied to a transparency so I could pop it off the card. The stamp I used within the frame is by Stampin UP from the set Lexicon of Love. I hope you like it and if you have a chance create a card and play along! Wish me luck, I will keep you posted! Even if I don't get into round two I plan to play along and make a card for each of their challenges you should too! Thanks for stopping in!
