Flashback!
This post is in reply to my new blog buddy Brittany over at Food For Thought which you should rush over and visit! She has some serious cooking skills! We are DRY, thank goodness we didn't have any flooding in our neighborhood although some folks on the other side of I-45 did! If you haven't heard it has been raining, well pouring on us since late yesterday. Normally we would all suck it up but since IKE visited us last September we are all a little more sensitive. There was tons of flooding in many parts of Houston and in our area just north of Houston. I took the day off and I was glad I did as I saw via the news that many folks came across lots of water on their way to work. Hope you all are having a good start to the week! I hope to have a new project posted some time later this week. The hubby is back as of today, he has been sleeping ALL day, making up for all the lack of sleep he had while away at work these last 7 days. He was supposed to be gone 14 but they changed it yet again. Ciao for now!

Unmounted Rubber Stamps
Wanted to share with you some of my stamps, this week I am sharing my cling cushion mounted stamps. What I love about these is that it allows for easy storage in a binder. Don't get me wrong, I still buy wood mounted stamps and probably always will. But, these are also great and so I wanted to share. The first non wood mounted stamps I bought were from Rubbernecker Stamps. I worked as a demonstrator for them last year and chose to get paid in product. When I got my stamps it was like Christmas all over again! They sell their stamps already mounted on cushion cling and so all you have to do is store it on pages that accept the cling. You can find the stamps and the cushion cling mounting material by clicking here. The other stamps that I have here are by Purple Onion Designs and you really should go check them out by clicking here. You get these awesome stamps, plain and when I say plain I mean that they are simply the red rubber stamps. You will then have to mount them yourself so that you can then use them on an acrylic block. Sorry, I didn't take a photo of the stamp attached to the acrylic block. If you aren't sure what I mean then leave a comment letting me know and I will take a photo for you.

A Photo Tag

Hi there. This is what I had to walk past this morning on my way out of the door. Yep, my DH left for a 14 day shift, sigh! I was so sad all morning at work and finally had to snap out of it as work has been so very busy! He was all packed up to go and in that little black bag is a card I made and slipped in after he went to bed, hehe. And when I got home there was a letter on my chair for me. So sweet, hehe, ok I'll get past all this lovey dovey stuff now. OK, so back on March 26th one of my blog buddies Aimeslee of xx Paper Paisleys xx tagged me. The rules of the tag say to find the seventh photo in the seventh folder of photos on my computer. So, one moment while I go see what photo that is going to be for me........ OK, here it is, a picture of my craft room before I moved into our home. When my DH was telling me about my future home he said there is a room there in the house that is already green for you to call your craft room. The reason he said green is that in the condo I was living in at the time I had a misty green craft studio. Well, as you can see in my post from this past Saturday I chose to go an entirely different way once I moved in. Not to mention he installed crown moulding, new taller base boards, new ceiling fan, new flooring and on and on and on and now I have an incredible space that makes me so happy and keeps me inspired to create!

So, here is the next part which is sometimes hard as I have so many wonderful blog friends to choose from.
Here are the rules for this tag:
1. Go to the photo folder in your computer.
2. Go to the seventh folder of photos.
3. Go to the seventh picture.
4. Put the picture on your blog along with a description of it.
5. Invite seven friends to join the challenge.
So, who will I invite? How about....
1. A Good Build - She is having an awesome giveaway go check it out!
4. The Magic Brush - Live in the KC area? If so you must check these talented women out!
7. Living Loving and Everything in Between
Ladies, if you are too busy to do the tag no worries! I still have two more tags I'm behind on so I will do those within the next two weeks.

My Studio
Here is a slide show of my completed (for now, is a room ever completed?) craft studio. Still need to hangup the chandelier and since these photos were taken (by my sweet Goddaughter Rachel) my DH installed the final piece of quarter round all around the room to finish off the floors to the baseboards. I am very happy with it and love creating in it! I'm ready to have some one over to create with! Will it be you?

The Folder That Became A Journal
As promised here is a slide show of the File Folder turned into a Journal. This journal is broken up into three sections. Each section has Journal Pages and a Pocket, the journals I created in Excel then printed them front and backside. I used some Tim Holtz stamps and Distress Ink along with a few rub ons. The soon to be owner of this journal is not a flashy gal so it was kept simple. I think I will make another and add man more embellishments to it. The folders I found at Marshall's Home Goods section. When I spotted them I just knew I had to have them. But, I couldn't tuck them away in a drawer! So, journals they will become and cards too. The journal cover was cut to an 8.5 by 6.75. The section that was left over I used to cut a butterfly out and then one piece was left the size of a card. I will alter that and get back to you with a photo. For now here are photos of the project. Hope you enjoy them and let me know if you have any questions.

My Entry for KWerner's Color Inspiration Challenge #49
I have always wanted to participate in Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenges but never got around to it. Till today! I saw that the deadline was quickly approaching and off I went to my craft studio to create. Never mind that I was already working on a project and so my desk was filled with STUFF already! I had taken a break and see what breaks get ya! More work, hehe. Anyway, click here to get to her post for this week's color challenge and all the links to those playing along. I'm way at the bottom, yikes there are already over #159 entries! Will I make the TOP 10 on my first chance? Hey, a girl can wish can't she? OK. Here we go, here is the color inspiration for the week and then my card. I made the card inside of 15mins and I think it turned out precious. Even if my stitching isn't equally sized or spaced, lol. Sometimes I find when I don't have lots of time to think I come up with cuter cards even if they are simpler. What do you think?

Glitz Designs Rocked My Clipboard
Wanted to share with you a clipboard I just altered using some awesome products from Glitz Designs. The paper I used is from the collection called Hot Mama, don't ya love it! Not sure what I am going to use the clipboard for but I just had to use this awesome paper on it. I found the clipboard at Michael's and I think I paid less than $2 for it. I need to go back and grab more if they still have them as these would make great gifts! I will probably go back and add some black acrylic paint around the front edges in a distressed manner. Sometimes I just can't leave well enough alone, hehe. Enjoy the slide show!
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
No, this isn't a post on a Clint Eastwood. I'm borrowing that title to give you an update on us. The Good.... We are still a two income family. The Bad.... Many families out there are no longer two income families and not by choice. Let's keep all those families in our prayers! The Ugly...... I have to get used to my DH switching to a 14 day on and 14 day off work schedule. When we first got married (18months ago) he was on the 7 days on and 7 days off then we got spoiled as they switched to a Houston gig and he was here every day for just short of a year. Now, things are getting changed and he is back to working away but this time for a longer stretch. I'm sad but I know that this is part of being a grown up and having a job and responsibilities. We got word that since he is getting switched to 14/14 that he will get to stay home for 7 more days so that was a nice surprise as I thought he would be leaving this Tuesday. This may mean I will be MIA as I try to get as much hubby time as possible since I work days my evenings will be dedicated to him. I mailed off packages today so you ladies who won my mirrors should see them in a weeks time. Have a great Easter! Hugs from Conroe, TX!

Quick Sunday Afternoon Post - Updated

Headed out the door to a birthday party for 4yr old twins, wanted to share photos of the projects my Goddaughter Rachel and I did while she was here this weekend. More later, ciao for now!
Finally figured out my mistake on the slideshow so here it is. We made two almost identical books documenting the creation of our books, hehe. We took photos as we created then uploaded photos to snapfish and through them they went to Walgreens same night and presto photos for our new scrapbook. Used the Cricut to cut the scalloped pages and various papers and stamps. As for the Easter cards, Rachel used my Doodlecharms cartridge to cut out the bunnies and then colored in the nose and ears. We cut some pastel papers to use behind the bunnies and a simple inside sentiment. The cards were super easy to make and they turned out cute. Goes to show that you don't have to do too much to make cute cards. Hope you had as good a weekend as I did.

Lady Bug

Just a quick post to share the Lady Bug Project. I made 50 Thank You cards, stamped the words then using my Cricut Doodle Charms cartridge and made the lady bugs. Also made individual lady bugs in varying sizes for her to put out on the tables as decorations. The book I made digitally then printed it out and cut the pages down to 8x8. To bind the book I used my Bind It All, think it turned out pretty good. It consisted of pages for the guest to sign, pages to record the gifts received, photos, a keepsake pocket and some journal pages. I will at a later time add them to a slide show so you can see the inside of the book. Gotta run, my darling God-Daughter Rachel is here for a sleep over and we have been creating 8x8 memory books and heading to Walgreens to pick up the photos. We are documenting the creation of our books. Ciao for now!

Glitz Girls In Da House!
It's late and I've just gotten home from a long day, but it was so worth it! My friend Deborah and I went to By Design Scrapbook Boutique this evening and took two classes with the Glitz Girls! These women are awesome, inspiring, adorable, funny and beautiful! We did an acrylic album and some pages with their awesome products! I plan to use some photos taken at tonights classes (yep, we took two) and add them to the pages we created tonight. Couldn't wait to share a few photos, in one you will see the FABULOUS GLITZ GIRLS, then one is of the acrylic album, the pages I did that are just waiting for the photos to be dropped into them. And the last photo is of Glitz Girl Laura, she was having fun with us and this photo shows her adorable fun nature so had to share it! Click HERE to go check out their blog, if your in Texas they still have some classes to teach so if you are near the locations listed on their blog you should go! Have a great Friday!

Busy Week
I was up super late last night, tough time getting to sleep, my hubby left to work a 7 day shift and will be home next Tuesday for 7 days then will be gone for 14 days! Yep, 14! Then he will be off for 14 days, that part will be great but having him gone for 14 days will be hard! They are considering keeping him on the 7/7 but who knows. We are just glad that we are both lucky to have our jobs in these hard times! I've been busy working on some Thank You's and a Memory Album for that order I mentioned the other day. The TY's are cute but I wish I could have done more to them but I had to make 50 of them and I didn't have enough time to jazz them up. She also didn't want them done digitally. I also think she is trying to stay on a budget and so you know how it goes. That is what is hard when selling cards, at times we put so much work into them that we can't really make a profit. So, I have to learn to keep some simple when the customer doesn't want to spend too much. I will post a pic soon, I also still need to get to the post office to mail out the mirrors. This week has just been flying by and I've had so many to-do's. Will make time this Saturday then on Sunday I'm off to the birthday party for the twins whose invites I did last week. Hope your week has been going well, take care!
