Metamorphosis Monday

Welcome back to this week's Metamorphosis Monday hosted by our wonderful hostess Susan over at Between Naps On the Porch! As you can see I'm continuing with my before/afters of my Pinkalicous Craft Studio. The buffet in the after shot is one that I bought Saturday in Warrenton TX. I spent a great day with two great friends Deborah and Tracy, we headed out early and drove out to Warrenton for a day of browsing and shopping! This was mine and Tracy's first time to go to the event. It's like a huge flea market which is held twice a year in the Roundtop, Tx area outside of Brenham, Tx. It continues on to next weekend April 4th and 5th if you aren't far from this event you should go! I was originally going to put the Ikea Expedit bookcase on this wall but for now the new "old" buffet has found a home. What do you think? Be sure to click here to visit Susan for a listing of all those playing along in this weeks Metamorphosis Monday! You are sure to see some great before and afters! Hope you have a great start to the week!

OK folks, I am ready to announce the winners of my first but not last giveaway! Please note that there are three winners. I noticed by some of the comments left on my original post that there were some of you who thought either one person was getting all the mirrors or that I was giving away all six mirrors. I did post that there would be three winners and so they are as follows.

I see creating in my very near future!

Now that my craft room is almost done, just need the IKEA Expedit bookcase to lay on it's side below the collage of mirrors and pictures. That piece will help me hold a few more items, someone asked "Where do you keep all your bills and messy paper files"? Well, I have a hanging folder box that I file stuff away in and that is in my closet. Then my hubby uses a small file cabinet that is there under one of my desks, it's white from Ikea. Also, I use one of my Longaberger baskets to pile in all my mail and opened stuff till I can file it away. So, I do have some unorganized stuff it's just tucked away, hehe. So, over the next few days I will be working on a small memory book for a co-worker. Her daughter in-law is pregnant with her first grandchild and she asked me to make a book for her. So, I will be back playing in my Pinkalicious studio and will be sure to share photos of the album soon! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment in the Mirror, Mirror post for a chance to win one!

P.S. I wanted to share a birthday invite I created for my dear friend Kara's twins. I did it all digitally and for a mere $4.11 for printing at Walgreens, I was able to gift her personalized invites. I also created matching Thank You's by omitting the girls and the text within the box and replacing it with fill in the blank text.

Week 10 of Metamorphosis Monday and an Award

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my place to visit the re-do of my Pinkalicious craft studio. Thanks to IKE I have had the chance to have my room re-drywalled and all the things that come with that. Hopefully you are not getting tired of this transformation but it is working well for me in that I am able to share my before and afters here on Metamorphosis Monday which our wonderful hostess Susan of Between Naps on the Porch has been hosting for 10wks now. You need to be sure to stop by and visit her here so you can see all the others participating. This weeks MM post for me this will be a long one as I am also sharing the Lemonade award with some fellow bloggers thanks to Kathy who awarded it to me this past week.

OK. So this week's before/after photos are of some gold frames and my window treatment. For over 9yrs now I have collected numerous gold frames which I had hung up in two homes along a stairway wall. I loved looking for mirrors as I shopped and always made sure to keep them under $20. Well, after using them in three different homes it was time to put them away or so I thought. I decided that some of those would be great for my craft studio so out came the black matte spray paint. I think they turned out well, they did look prettier in gold but it was time for a change. See the very bottom of this post to learn how you can get your hands on some of my other gold frames that I am no longer using.

The other before and after photo I want to share is of my window treatment, the curtains are the ones I used prior to IKE only this time I am using rings and a longer curtain rod. I like the new look as it helps to make my window seem larger and it will be so much easier to pull the curtains closed in the evenings when I work at my desk. In case you are wondering why I bother to even close my curtains since I do have blinds well the night bugs love the light that shines through the blinds and so while I work I hear them flying into my window! It drives me nuts and so when I pull my curtains they stop. I plan on adding some type of bird feeder in front of my window so I can see the birds as I work.

If you are still with me THANKS! I know this is a long post, so now we move on to the award. I would like to thank the Academy I mean my blogging buddy Kathy for this gracious award. She has graciously seen me as someone who has a good attitude on my blog. Thanks Kathy! It is so neat to have made so many new friends via my blog and so when folks visit mine I in turn visit theirs and the cycle goes on and on. Here are the rules:

If you get Lemons than make Lemonade! Life is what you make of it and IKE has not beaten my DH and I down!
If you receive this award you must:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs that show attitude or gratitude.
3. Link your nominees within your post.
4. Let nominees know that they have received their award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person from whom you've received the award.
I am choosing ten awesome bloggers who have made my life sweeter by their inspiring blogs:

Thanks for stopping by! Tuesday I will be posting a photo of the gold framed mirrors that I am no longer using and will be choosing new homes for them! So, if you are interested come back to see how you can be one of those lucky winners!

A Day in My Pink Room

I spent most of my day working in my craft studio, installing curtains, sorting through boxes and organizing. I love, love, love being in my pinkalicious studio! Tomorrow I will be spending some time in there but only after I help my DH with the fence, building a new one that is. I wanted to share a new site that I found thanks to one of my blog buddies, Cindy. Here is something I created at Polyvore, since I spent the day in my pinkalicious studio I have pink/black on my mind so here is a little mix for you to enjoy!

Another project done and running out of space...

Hope your week ended well, mine did as I was off of work today! I hung up some mirrors and pictures on the last undressed wall of my craft studio. The room is almost done but still have those darn curtains to hang up! And I still need one more piece of furniture to get my stuff all back in the room. I had a couple of wire basket drawers from IKE that got misplaced once we re-did the closets in both rooms. Now, you may be wondering if I really need all the stuff in those drawers? Do I use the items often? Well, cough, cough, no, not all the time but how can I get rid of it? Do I really have to? I tell my mother she should get rid of items she hasn't used in over six months and especially if it's been over a year. Sounds like I need to take my own advice! I'll have to consider it, what do you do when you find yourself running out of space? Be sure to check back on Monday as I will be posting this weeks Metamorphosis Monday Before/After photos. I've also won an award and that means that I will be sharing it with some great bloggers out there so be sure to check in late Sunday night or by Monday. Have a great weekend!

Happy St. Patty's Day

Just a quick post to wish you all a great Tuesday! I also wanted to share a couple of photos of some art I created for my craft studio using digital art I bought from House of 3. The two pieces I created are the ones with the chandeliers. And get this, the background patterns are from them as well so I can print them over and over. Use them as pattern paper and make all sorts of stuff! The other two are pieces I bought from Rhonna Farrer's Etsy shop you should totally go get some by clicking here.

Metamorphosis Monday

Hi there! I'm back with a Before IKE and After IKE of the rebuilding of my craft studio. If you visited me on a previous MM you may have seen that we have been slowly getting my studio back in order but with a slightly new look. Softer pink, new desk setup, new art on the walls and new hardwood floor. Please be sure to check back as there are still curtains to go up as well as new area rug to replace the temporary piece of cut carpet. Hope you have a chance to go and visit our Hostess Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see all the other before/afters playing along.

One last note: Please take a few minutes to click on the button to the left to place a vote for Skidaddle Bags to help Maria with her new business. Also, if you can take a look by clicking on the Skidaddle Logo so you can go and check out the awesome bags that were inspired by her daughter who has diabetes. Hope you have a great Monday and hugs from Texas!

Sneak Peek - It's almost ready!

Hope your Saturday is going well! I have been working on getting my craft studio set up just like I want it. Here is a sneak peek, please excuse the make shift rug under the chair! Also, I still need to hang curtains and my DH will need to go around the room and install quarter round where the floor meets with the base board. Of course I couldn't wait, not sure when he will be able to get to it so for now I'm fine with it as is. Ciao for now!

Day Two of Flooring Installs

Well, today I have the carpet guys here doing the carpet in the hallway, guestroom and master bedroom. And so all the furniture from my master bedroom can be found at the moment in my living room, breakfast room, craft studio (on new wood floor ) and anywhere else they could stick it including in front of the TV (no HGTV for me during install)! To make matters worse it is raining steadily outside! Poor guys had to leave with the carpet to go to the Warehouse to cut it there since they couldn't cut it outside in the rain. The end is almost near, wait, we still have to paint the ceiling and walls in the master bedroom! UGH! We had damage in there too, and YES, it would have made more sense to paint in there before the new carpet was installed. But, there is so much heavy furniture and well we were putting a new roof on the house, waiting on install of drywall then we had to paint and re-install all the trim and moulding in the other two rooms. Geez, no time, looks like the painting of that room will have to wait till after we put up the fence outside that was also destroyed thanks to IKE. Busy, yes, we have been a little busy since Sept. 12, 2008. Off to go take more photos of the install will be back later today.

P.S. Stop on over and visit one of my new Blog buddies Laurel at A Good Build and leave her a comment for a chance to win a free gift card click HERE to go to her site. She too is re-building after IKE paid she and her hubby a visit too! She is also posting pictures of her rebuild and she has some cool stuff to share. Good luck!

It's A Go!

Well, the floor guys arrived early as I was logging into my office remotely to start my work day. They checked the floor and there was a small area that had a dip so they floated it then let it dry and they just applied more float to the remainder of the room. It has a primer in it that allows it to dry quickly and it doesn't hurt that they have a huge fan going. Looks like my floor is going to be completed today! So excited! Here are some photos of the process so far. Gotta get back to work. Ciao for now!

The rain has come and boy did we need it! Along with the hard rain comes the cool air which we also needed. So, had to open up the garage for the floor guys to set up the saw out there. Didn't want to give them any reason to leave! LOL. Here are a couple more updates on the install, they started about 9am and it's now 11:45.

Do you see the dust showing up on the dark floor? I see that I will be using my Swiffer often, might need one dedicated to just my craft studio.

Will the wood floor be done today?

Is the question on our minds! If all is perfect with our concrete floor then they will install the hardwood floor in my craft studio on Wednesday. Then on Thursday the carpet will be installed in the hallway, guestroom and master bedroom! So excited! Will post pics as soon as it's done or while it's in the works if I'm allowed to be near the work areas. Ciao for now!

Flooring

Our flooring is finally picked out and a deposit has been made! YES! I am so glad that my DH and I were able to find something we both liked. Will need to take a vacation day or two so that the hardwood floor can be installed next week. I am so excited about the flooring for my craft studio! I have really missed working in there! I am ready to get back in there and create my House Warming book using great stuff from HO3. Tonight I did create some art for my walls using digital art in photoshop. Since I can't really work in my craft room just yet I am using my chair and laptop as my craft studio. Not bad, I can create, watch TV and visit with my DH. I have a terrible tummy ache and it's keeping me up! I am going to try and get to bed so Ciao for now.
